About Alteration Haven

About our studio

We work on garments that need a better fit, a fresh shape, or a second life. Every project begins with an assessment of the fabric, construction, and the changes you want to make.

Garment changes with care

Alteration Haven is an appointment-led tailoring studio focused on clothing alterations, garment remodelling, and thoughtful upcycling. We handle redesign consultations, fit updates, and restyling projects for pieces that deserve more wear.

Our process is clear from the start. We review the garment, discuss what is possible, share a scope and quote after inspection, and proceed only after design approval. That keeps expectations practical and the work well defined.

Why clients choose us

What guides our work

We combine tailoring discipline with remodelling and upcycling methods that suit real garments, real fabrics, and real timelines. The result is work that feels considered from first review to final collection.

A1

Clear project scoping

We start with a garment and material assessment, then explain what can be adjusted, remade, or reused. Quotes are based on inspection, so the work plan stays realistic and clear.

A2

Upcycling focus

We value thoughtful remodelling that extends the life of clothing. From dress and skirt remodelling to shirt and jacket restyling, each project aims to keep useful fabric in circulation.

A3

Careful fitting process

Fit matters, but it depends on the garment itself. We review construction and limitations before work begins, and any additional changes are approved before they are carried out.

A4

Respect for detail

Where available, we aim to match original thread and trim, but material availability can vary. The goal is a finish that suits the garment and the agreed design, not an unrealistic promise.

Our story

A studio built around reuse

We began with a simple idea: good garments should not be discarded too quickly. Careful alterations and remodelling can extend wear, improve comfort, and give meaningful pieces a new purpose.

Founded by Arjun Banerjee, Alteration Haven was built around practical tailoring and considered garment transformation. We work with vintage clothing, everyday wardrobe pieces, and garments with personal value.

Our studio serves customers who want a better fit, a refreshed silhouette, or a redesigned piece made from an existing garment. We also support projects that reuse fabric in accessories and smaller items.

Because every garment is different, we assess construction, fabric condition, seam allowances, and design limits before confirming the next step. That helps us recommend an approach that suits the piece rather than forcing a result.
